Lots have been spoken and written about Greek oil. Its not just about Greek oil – its about Greek olive oil.
It goes way back to ancient Greece, when Zeus decided to give Athens its name. The contestants were two, Goddess Athena and God Poseidon. The fight was ferocious, but the one who prevailed was Goddess Athena, whose name was given to the geographical location of modern Athens. To celebrate the naming of the city, Goddess Athena planted an olive tree, from which the branches of the olive tree were used to make the writhes for the winners in the Olympic games of those days.
Since then the people of Greece have been planting olive trees left and right. The reasons are many. At first to be able to plant the olive tree the soil has to be such so the tree can grow and flourish. You cannot just decide to go and plant a tree and it will grow. The soil, the environment, the climate, even the person who planted the tree, plays a role in the future of the olive tree.
Up to now we have been talking about olive trees in general. The ones we are interested in are the ones that produce Greek oil or more specifically Greek olive oil.
Assuming that the soil is right, the climate is right, the environment is right, etc. then what you get is high quality Greek olive oil.
This has been sighted in numerous clinical studies from reputable research medical centers that Greek oil has many beneficial effects on the human organism.
The ones I am talking about are the studies with the name Mediterranean diet, Mediterranean way of life, Mediterranean nutrition, etc.
All of these have the Greek oil as its base. Is it the Greek climate? Is it the Greek soil? Is it the Greek oil?
It is probably all of the above.
Greek oil has been given to us by the “Gods”, that alone must say something about the Greek oil….
