Lots have been spoken and written about Greek oil. Its not just about Greek oil – its about Greek olive oil.
It goes way back to ancient Greece, when Zeus decided to give Athens its name. The contestants were two, Goddess Athena and God Poseidon. The fight was ferocious, but the one who prevailed was Goddess Athena, whose name was given to the geographical location of modern Athens. To celebrate the naming of the city, Goddess Athena planted an olive tree, from which the branches of the olive tree were used to make the writhes for the winners in the Olympic games of those days.
